Fun at The Flamingo
"The Flamingo is a little slice of heaven!"Bob L.The year was 1979. A friend and I graduated high school and set off from Chicago on a west coast adventure. After three weeks of camping, we both needed a break from the tent. We checked in to The Flamingo and marveled at the amazing pool. I’ll never forget the diving boards and swimming laps. A few years later, I took my bride there and we’ve returned many times over the past 35 years.
"Taking the Leap"Charles G.My parents used to take my sister and me to The Flamingo every summer in the late 50s-60s. I remember being in the pool with my Dad when I jumped in the deep end. I think I was 4 years old and didn’t know how to swim! My father swam over and grabbed me by my trunks to pull me above the water.

I was a resident of Santa Rosa from 1957 to 1959. I was a carefree, fun-loving single and The Flamingo was brand new and the place to go, dressed in lovely cocktail clothing, on Saturday nights for dinner and dancing. It was the star of Santa Rosa nightlife, and provided pleasure for so many young members of the community.

My friends, Loretta and Mary Beth and I, started coming to The Flamingo Resort in the mid 80s. We have returned at the time of the Sonoma County Fair nearly every year since! We’ve grown old with The Flamingo, but The Flamingo has never grown old with us.
